Burbank, Los Angeles County
Therapy in Burbank.
Burbank brings me a specific client: working irregular hours in an industry that does not stop, with a sleep schedule that has not been reliable for years.

The studios and the businesses around them set the rhythm here, and that rhythm is not a human one. Production schedules do not respect weekends. Contracts end with little notice. A good stretch is followed by a gap of unknown length, and the gap is where the trouble usually starts.
Sleep first
Irregular and night work is the single most common thread in my Burbank caseload, and it is usually where I want to start. Sleep disruption is not merely a side effect of anxiety and low mood; it is a co-author of both. Someone working wildly variable hours can do everything else right and make very little progress while that remains untreated.
There is real work to be done here even when the schedule cannot change: anchoring the parts of the day you do control, managing light deliberately, and giving up the strategies that feel like help and are not.
The feast-and-famine cycle
Freelance and contract work produces a distinctive pattern. During a job you are too busy to notice how you are doing. Between jobs the whole thing arrives at once: the money worry, the identity worry, the fear that the last call was the last call. People often describe the gap as the time they fall apart, and then feel ashamed about it because they chose this career.
It is a predictable cycle and it is workable. A fair amount of what we do is building something that holds steady regardless of whether you are currently employed.
Scheduling around production
If your hours move week to week, say so and we will work with it rather than against it. Phone and video sessions make that far easier than a fixed appointment at a fixed address ever could, and I would rather see you at an odd hour than lose you to a scheduling problem.
Thin walls
One practical note. Much of Burbank's apartment stock is mid-century and close together, and clients sometimes worry about being overheard. Use headphones, and tell me if you need to keep your voice down. We can work perfectly well with short answers.
